Lysette Anthony

Lysette Anthony grew up in London and trained at the Arts Educational School, where she studied drama and dance. She began working as a teenage model, appearing in magazines and advertisements, and moved into acting while still young. Her breakthrough came in the science-fiction fantasy Krull (1983), in which she played Princess Lyssa opposite Ken Marshall.

She built a steady screen career through the 1980s and 1990s, with roles in the period adventure The Lady and the Highwayman (1989), the Sherlock Holmes comedy Without a Clue (1988), and the drama The Rachel Papers (1989). On television she was cast as the witch Angelique in the 1991 revival of Dark Shadows, and she appeared in the comedy Look Who's Talking Now (1993).

Anthony continued to work in British television and film, taking guest roles in various drama series. Beginning in 2015 she played Marnie Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, a long-running role that introduced her to a new audience. In 2017 she was among the women who publicly accused the film producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, saying he had raped her in the 1980s. She was married for a time to the Dutch artist Luc Leestemaker and has a son.
