She starred in the Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove from 2013 to 2015 and drew praise for the Netflix limited series Maid (2021), which brought her a Golden Globe nomination. She has also served for decades as a spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris.
She was married to Paul Qualley from 1986 to 1999, and the couple had three children, including the actresses and models Rainey Qualley and Margaret Qualley. A later marriage to Rhett Hartzog ended in divorce in 2004.
