What Does the Name Naasia Mean?
Naasia is a rare given name, and no securely documented etymology exists for this exact spelling. The explanation most often offered treats it as a variant of Nasia, a short form used in Greek-speaking communities for the female name Athanasia. Athanasia derives from the Greek athanatos, meaning "immortal" or "deathless." The shortened forms Nasia, Sia, and Thania are familiar in Greek use, but the specific spelling Naasia is not the standard one.
A separate and unrelated suggestion links the name to West Africa: Naa is a Ga title used for women of high rank in and around Accra, Ghana, and it stands at the front of many Ga women's names. Because both explanations rest on resemblance rather than documentation, neither can be treated as established, and the meaning of Naasia should be considered uncertain.
