Since Bones, Deschanel has continued acting in television, including a recurring role on the TNT drama Animal Kingdom and a lead role in the 2022 Netflix thriller Devil in Ohio. Off screen she is a longtime vegan and an outspoken advocate for animal welfare. She married actor David Hornsby in 2010, and the couple have two sons.
